Photobook: Pisciotta, Italy

July 2022, I had the honor to study photography in the Campania region of Southern Italy. The historic town of Pisciotta on the Mediterranean coast was home base for myself along with the other amazing artists and scholars participating in the Purchase College, Global Education Summer Abroad Program.

About Me!

Artist Statement
I like to dabble a little bit into everything, but work primarily in digital illustration. I am enamored by the silly and absurd and tell these stories through sequential works, programming, and animation. I am inspired by comics and narrative video games. A current, personal project I'm working on is a comic titled “Vacant Soul.”

Artist Bio
Emily Schneider (she/her) is a Long Island illustrator currently getting her BFA at SUNY Purchase. She is a Visual arts major with a concentration in Drawing and Printmaking. She likes working narratively with visual storytelling and comic making. In 2019, Emily placed first place in JEA’s nationwide poster design competition at the 2019 journalism conference in Washington D.C. Her design was used to advertise JEA’s upcoming conference “Big Questions, Big Results.” She now works primarily in illustration.
